The Dining Room

We moved into our new home just about 16 months ago and there is always something to be done. Project after project. We still have many bare windows, holes in ceilings begging for lighting, and rooms calling out, "decorate me!" A few weeks ago, during February vacation, we spent some time organizing. Chris ventured off to Lowe's for some Rubbermaid shelving for the basement. It has been lovely having a garage, but super annoying to bring all that clutter upstairs when you return home. So now we hang our coats, leave our shoes and winter gear as soon as we hit the basement. I dream of finishing it one day, but for now it'll do!

Now, for the dining room. We were very daring when we chose the paint colors! First, Chris put up crown moulding and a chair rail, which looks beautiful. The top wall is Scooter and the bottom wall is Hepplewhite Ivory, thanks to Ben Moore. In the end, I LOVE IT!

But my family has a problem with lighting. We tend to dangle light bulbs from dining room fixtures and wait until we find the perfect chandelier-which can take years! Then it turns into the big joke during holidays, "I just love your chandelier, where did you EVER find it?" Still unsure whether or not to put an area rug underneath the table. With the little ones pushing shopping carts and strollers 24/7 around the whole downstairs, it might cause a few bumps in the road! I'm also looking for either a very large mirror or an array of smaller mirrors to place over the buffet. But, do you like this chandelier? It just may be the one!

And now, to plan the little man's big boy room! Aidan will be (temporarily) moving out of his current bedroom to make room for his new little brother. But I do see some bunk beds in the boys' future...
