17 months.....

I don't know what it is about my little boy, but he has me wrapped around his finger. I can't quite explain it. I love him with all my heart and think he is the sweetest thing that ever walked the planet.

So his teeth came in late. Really late. He got his first bottom tooth on Sept. 30th. Soon after that, #2 erupted right next door. On or around December 1st, his top teeth FINALLY started to come in, and now he's got teeth coming in all over. 17 mos......5 teeth.

But let's talk about the boy's words. I mean, girls are meant to be more verbal than boys, right? When Emily was his age, she had quite an extensive vocabulary, for sure. But Chris and I both can't quite remember if she had THIS MANY WORDS. Aidan is stringing words together and making so much sense out of this crazy world we live in. I'm sure having little Emily talking and playing with him all day long is a big help. But this boy is amazing.

The List:
uh oh
Emma (Emily)
Mama (yes, this was his first word!)
Dada
Nana (interchangeable for the person and the fruit)
Milk
Hat
Outside
TV
Show

Isn't it quite an extensive list? I just had to get some of it down so I wouldn't forget. We did some signing with this little guy, but not nearly as much as we did with Emily. I guess we'll toss it up to Grandad's good genes. I love my smart little guy. I'm sure I forgot a bunch, so I'll be back soon to add to the crazy list. Such a fun age. And he's such a good little boy. I hope the next one gets Grandad's good genes too. Did we use them all up?

A few others that I've heard him say...

George - he was saying this a lot on Thursday when Emily was watching Curious George on the TV. It's also of course my father's name and my Mum was thrilled to hear about Aidan learning to say it.

Garage - he sometimes says this when he hears the garage door opening when you come home from work.

Crash - when one of his toy trucks hits something.

Tractor - he went crazy saying this word a few weeks ago when I took him for a walk in his stroller and we saw a real tractor.

Gorby - he was definitely using your
delightful kitty's real name when we looked after him that weekend.

Duck - does sound a bit like truck I admit but he can use it properly in context.

Hair
Eye

Yes - he was saying this a few weeks ago though I haven't heard it recently. He now has two different ways of saying UH HUH meaning YES or NO depending on the intonation.

Brrrrm Brrrrm - truck noise

As for the genes... I think it must be his Irish genes that give him the gift of the gab.

Oh, two more he said on Thursday...

Elmo
Big Bird

It must seem like a very strange world when you are one.
