New Year's Eve at Sky

We had a really good New Year's Eve. We went to Sky, a nice restaurant near our house, with Emily. She was very good and received many compliments.

Mommy had some nice merlot.

Emily had some milk.

And then we went to Auntie Kathy's house for some Vienna Mocha Chunk.

Liam even got to hold Emily.

Then we drove home in the snow and Emily was tucked up all snug and warm in her bed.
We are very lucky to have such a great baby.

Fun with Daddy

I took today off work which meant that I got to hold Emily after she had just woken up. She was in a great mood after sleeping from 10:30pm to 6:20am and from 7:05am to 9:15. Now that she is able to interact with us more it's even more fun to play with her.

Emily goes Christmas shopping.

Emily is very tired tonight. She had a busy day; we went to church, then to South Shore Plaza to do some Christmas shopping. Then we went to the Walpole Mall for more shopping and to Big Y to buy some groceries. Emily was very good - she ate twice at the mall and enjoyed looking at all the lights. She received many compliments from strangers...no one could believe she is only 3 weeks old today. Her new car seat cover is great and kept her warm without blankets.

New photos of Emily

There are new photos of Emily online at emilystow.shutterfly.com. She had her first bath in the tub today and really enjoyed her Baby Einstein chair from the folks at Global. Last night she slept from 10:30pm to 6:30am and then went back to bed from 7:30am to 10:00am. We are so lucky to be getting all this sleep! Posted by Picasa

Children's Hospital Trip

Emily went to Children's Hospital in Boston to get her sacral dimple checked out today. It was snowing hard today, so we went early to avoid the worst of the snow. We were done in less than an hour and Emily's dimple is fine. She looked really cute in her snow suit! Posted by Picasa

Fireside Studying

It snowed this morning which always makes me feel happy. Snow makes the world look clean and neat, at least for a little while. Usually I would have given in to the urge to spend some time outside, but today I settled for shoveling the driveway and going to get a haircut. With Emily to take care of and law school finals looming I had good reason to stay inside.
So I made a fire, sat on my couch, put my feet up, and read about Professional Responsibility. The afternoon would have been more satisfying if I had been reading something meatier like Property or Constitutional Law, but as the Stones say, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you just might find, you get what you need." Being able to take a break from studying to soothe Emily to sleep was just what I needed to make this afternoon pretty great.
